Self-Help for the Elderly is a non-profit organization providing a continuum of services to seniors. We strive to promote the independence, dignity and self-worth of seniors. Originally created as a "War on Poverty" program, Self-Help for the Elderly began serving seniors in San Franciscos Chinatown community in 1966. Today, Self-Help serves over 35,000 seniors in San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Alameda counties. Over 90% of our clients are low-income and from minority communities.
